Industry veteran will expand Volt Active Data’s presence in new geographies and markets
BEDFORD, Mass. – February 9, 2016 – Volt Active Data, the only purpose-built database for fast data applications, today announced the appointment of Alan Hawley to the new post of Vice President of global business development and international sales.
Hawley brings more than 12 years’ experience in international business development, sales management and channel relations to Volt Active Data. An experienced sales executive and manager, he will report directly to Volt Active Data CEO and President Bruce Reading.
Volt Active Data, which recently released v6 of its in-memory, massively parallel operational database, serves enterprises in the telecommunications/mobile, financial services, digital ad tech, gaming and IoT/sensor sectors. The company’s high-velocity SQL database, designed by Turing Laureate co-founder Dr. Michael Stonebraker and a team of database researchers, is the only purpose-built system for fast data.

Before joining Volt Active Data, Hawley served as vice president of global APM sales for SmartBear Software, a leader in software quality tools. Prior to Smartbear Hawley was senior director of partnerships for Everbridge Inc., where he established and grew the partner program while developing a successful sales presence in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He joined Everbridge from Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR), where he served as Director of UK Sales. Prior to Everbridge, Hawley spent five years establishing and managing sales teams across Northern Europe at Gomez, Inc., which was acquired by Compuware.
